Academics - Umbrella Programs
River's Edge CA offers the following programs for
students completing studies off campus:
Basic Umbrella (K-8th grade)
Fee: $100/year per student (additional late
registration fee of $30 if registering after 8/31)
Parents may educate their students completely at
home. The parent-teacher is responsible for
submitting a course of study and curriculum plan at
the beginning of each school year and submitting
grades and attendance records each semester.
Annual SAT testing (mandatory)
Maintenance of student's cumulative school file
Attendance and grade report forms (downloadable
from our
forms page)
Waiting list for grade (if desired)
Association with a church-related school (CRS)
(Home School Option II)
Umbrella Plus (K-8th grade)
Fee: $220/year per student (additional late
registration fee of $30 if registering after 8/31)
Parents may also educate their students at home
while acting as an associate teacher of River's Edge
CA. The associate teacher may use the same course of
study and curriculum plan used by the cooperative
and receive weekly lesson plans to use at home. The
associate teacher may also elect to submit a
modified or alternate course of study and
curriculum; however, it must be approved by the
school. Students may also participate in school
activities including field trips, chapel service,
class events, school-wide events or competitions
(art fair, science or history fair),
Christmas/Spring Program, Fun Day, etc. The
associate teacher is responsible for submitting the
course of study and curriculum plan at the beginning
of each school year if not following River's Edge
CA lesson plans and must submit grades and
attendance records each semester. In addition, the
associate teacher must read, sign, and comply with
the Associate Teacher Agreement.
